Shatour Israel Tours was started 45 years ago by Nathan and Hanna Shapiro, and is now run by their children, Lior, Shanan and Zivit, together with a team of multi-lingual travel agents.

Nathan is the 10th generation of his family to live in Jerusalem. His loves taking visitors around the Old City of Jerusalem, where the stones tell the story of his family history and the history of the Jewish people. “It is my greatest pleasure to bring people from all over the world to this holy city and to show them that Jewish life is thriving here once again. My story is a microcosm of the history of the Jews in Israel, and I feel an emotional responsibility to share my family’s history with visiting families.”

Hannah was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Israel with her family. She met Nathan when they were both studying at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and worked in events management before joining Shatour. “I love creating tailor-made luxury tours for incoming groups and families from all over the world. We have built Shatour together as a family-oriented business, so it is an integral part of our family life!”
