THE TRAIL-RUNNING RACE THAT CELEBRATES THE DOLOMITES THROUGH SPORT, NATURE AND PASSION

The Dolomite autumn gains a new highlight dedicated to mountain running. On Saturday, 10 October 2026, the first official edition of the Enrosadira Trail will take place: a trail running event that will lead athletes along alpine paths, past traditional Ladin farms, through golden forests and beneath some of the most iconic peaks of the Dolomites a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Following the Zero Edition, which allowed the organisers to test the routes and event logistics together with the trail running community, the event now officially debuts with a format designed around athletes’ needs and the enhancement of the local area. The philosophy of the Enrosadira Trail is summed up in the motto “By athletes, for athletes”: an event created by listening to those who experience the mountains every day and designed to offer an authentic experience, far from large-scale mass competitions.
“From the very beginning, our goal was to create an event together with the athletes, listening to their needs and collecting their suggestions in order to continuously improve the race experience,” explains Stefan Sottara, President of the Uniun dl Sport La Val Association. “We want the Enrosadira Trail to be much more than a competition: it should be a moment of encounter, sharing and appreciation of our territory, where every participant can feel part of a great community united by a passion for the mountains.”

THE ROUTES
The programme includes three distances designed to welcome runners with different levels of experience and preparation: 20 km with 1,250 metres of positive elevation gain, 40 km with 2,450 metres of positive elevation gain and 55 km with 3,400 metres of positive elevation gain, a loop route crossing some of Alta Badia’s most iconic locations.
All routes will start and finish in La Val, a village that has been part of the European Hiking Villages since 2015. The courses will pass through places such as Badia, La Villa, Corvara and San Cassiano, running at the foot of the Santa Croce and the Sassongher, through the Rit meadows and the Gardenaccia area.
The choice of date is not accidental. October is one of the most fascinating times of the year in the Dolomites: the larch trees turn golden and the natural phenomenon of the Enrosadira, which colours the mountains in shades of pink and orange at sunset, creates breathtaking scenery. This unique spectacle of nature gives the event its name and aims to make the Enrosadira Trail a reference event for those seeking a trail running experience immersed in nature and Ladin culture.
