ROYAL HIDEAWAY CORALES RESORT, TENERIFE LAUNCHES FIRST INSPIRATIONAL CHEF STORIES WITH ALBERT ADRIÀ
This winter, Royal Hideaway Corales Resort in Tenerife will launch the first edition of Inspirational Chef Stories, running from 28th & 29th November 2026. Albert Adrià of two-Michelin-starred Enigma in Barcelona will join resident chefs Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón for an astronomy-themed six-hands menu collaboration at the resort’s two-Michelin-starred, three-Repsol-Sun El Rincón de Juan Carlos.
Inspirational Chef Stories is the latest evolution of the resort’s Inspirational Chef Programme, which since 2018 has welcomed some of the most influential names in global gastronomy across ten editions – Tim Boury, Massimo Bottura, Ana Roš, Diego Guerrero and the Torres brothers among them. Redeveloped for 2026 to place greater emphasis on the best of the destination, each edition will now draw inspiration from a defining feature of the Canary Islands, bringing together gastronomy, destination, culture, science and creativity into one programme.
More than a shared kitchen, the series is built on a two-way exchange. Adrià reads Tenerife through his own creative lens, while the Padrón brothers rediscover their territory through his outside gaze. That mutual spark is where the inspiration really lives.
For this first edition, the focus is the night sky. Tenerife has one of the world’s most important skies for astronomical observation, so exceptional that Spain protected it in 1988 with the pioneering “Law of the Sky”, the first legislation of its kind anywhere in the world. It is against this backdrop – the volcanic landscape below and the protected skies above – that Albert Adrià and the Padrón brothers will cook, drawing a connection between the two: the stars above Tenerife and the Michelin stars in its kitchens, both sharing the same pursuit of excellence.
Future editions will turn to other sides of the island such as its ocean, botany, geology or cultural heritage. All very fitting given neighbouring Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site crowned Spain’s highest peak, is the most visited national park in Europe.
Combined with a stay at Royal Hideaway Corales Resort, each day culminates in a collaborative six-hands dinner: a thoughtfully crafted 12-course tasting menu, six dishes from each restaurant, that blends the two restaurants’ styles into a single interactive experience, accompanied by a carefully curated wine pairing. There will also be a series of Inspirational Talks, open to dinner guests and members of the public, each discussing moments connected to Tenerife’s landscape, Atlantic pantry and gastronomic identity. Wider programming across the two days also includes a visit to the Izaña Observatory on Mount Teide and a tasting at a winery practising biodynamic agriculture.
Sponsored by Taittinger, this special edition offers a truly distinctive way to experience Tenerife.
