NEW SPA OPEN AT ALTHOFF SEEHOTEL ÜBERFAHRT IN THE BAVARIAN ALPS
Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, located on the shores of Lake Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alps south of Munich, has unveiled a fully redesigned spa. At the 4 elements spa by Althoff, guests will find an entirely new design concept inspired by the connection between architecture, nature and holistic wellbeing at Lake Tegernsee.
Developed by Elke Diefenbach-Althoff, co-founder of Althoff Hotels, the 4 elements spa concept is centered around four experiences: Water, Warmth, Silence and Movement. At the heart of the spa is the new “Water World,” including a 92-foot indoor pool, hot tub, heated outdoor pool and direct access to Lake Tegernsee via a private bathing area and sunbathing lawn. The “Warmth World” includes a Finnish sauna with experiential infusions, a bio-clay sauna, herbal sauna and steam bath. The new Silence Lounge offers a spacious relaxation room for guests, and the “Movement” space features a newly equipped fitness area with state-of-the-art training facilities.
The spa’s 410-square-foot Ritual Rooms offer massages, beauty treatments and holistic experiences tailored to individual needs, while the new Core Room offers Reformer Pilates, Pilates, yoga, daily changing activities and personal training. Other new offerings include a Concept Store, featuring curated beauty and lifestyle products, and the Bistro, serving healthy, seasonal dishes. Starting in fall 2026, the new Kids Club will offer daily childcare from 10am to 4pm, allowing parents to enjoy the spa. “With the new 4 elements spa by Althoff, we wanted to make the unique energy of Lake Tegernsee directly tangible. Water, mountains, movement and stillness are inseparably connected here. Our guests can shape their spa day entirely according to their individual preferences – from swimming in the lake or one of the pools to Reformer Pilates and sauna rituals, soothing treatments and mindful moments of relaxation.” says Vincent Ludwig, Managing Director of Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt.
The setting of Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt makes Lake Tegernsee an integral part of the spa experience, inviting guests to swim in its waters, take an early-morning walk along the shore or enjoy Nordic walking with panoramic mountain views. Looking ahead, the hotel plans to introduce new movement and swimming programs utilizing the lake for training and outdoor experiences.
