Malaysia Airlines expands network with inaugural flight to Kolkata
Malaysia Airlines has celebrated the inaugural flight of its new route to Kolkata (CCU), marking another milestone in its mission to provide seamless connectivity between Malaysia and key destinations in South Asia
With the addition of this new service, Malaysia Airlines, in partnership with IndiGo, now connects Malaysia to 16 destinations across India, further enhancing travel options for passengers. The first flight, MH184, departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9:45pm local time, connecting passengers to the vibrant cultural heart of India.
Flight MH184 was operated by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a flight load of 93%, showcasing a strong demand for visitors travelling to CCU. All passengers boarding the flight from Kuala Lumpur received a Malaysia Airlines-themed travel pouch as a token of appreciation, along with an opportunity to capture memories at a specially designed photo booth. The return flight, MH185 departed at 12:10am, and arrived at 6:40am local time with a flight load of 91%.
The pre-departure festivities at Gate C2 were a vibrant showcase of Indian culture and Malaysian Hospitality. Representatives from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), included Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi (Chief Executive Officer of Airlines) and Dersenish Aresandiran (Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines). As a mark of Malaysian Hospitality, passengers were served with traditional chai, complemented by light Indian music.
