JW Marriott Pune has announced the appointment of Suyash Bisht as Director of Food & Beverage and Chef Sajid Patel as Executive Chef
Suyash Bisht joins JW Marriott Pune as Director of Food & Beverage with over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality across globally renowned brands. Throughout his career, he has built strong expertise in restaurant concept development, strategic repositioning of dining venues, guest experience design and operational excellence across ultra luxury hotels, resorts and private members’ clubs.
Prior to joining JW Marriott Pune, Suyash served with The Oberoi Group, most recently leading the Food & Beverage division at The Oberoi, Mumbai, one of India’s most celebrated luxury hotels. In this role, he oversaw a diverse portfolio of restaurants, bars and lounges, driving revenue growth, enhancing guest engagement strategies and strengthening service standards across the division. His leadership also contributed to repositioning signature venues such as Eau Bar into one of Mumbai’s most sought after nightlife destinations.
Earlier in his career, Suyash played a key role in the pre opening and operational launch of The Bay Club, Mumbai, an exclusive by invitation only private members’ club developed by The Oberoi Group in Bandra Kurla Complex. Leading the food and beverage strategy from concept to execution, he helped establish the club’s dining portfolio as a key revenue driver while consistently delivering strong member satisfaction and operating margins.
Suyash began his professional journey with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts through the brand’s Manager in Training programme. During his tenure, he held progressive leadership roles across multiple international destinations including Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, where he led large scale F&B operations, introduced innovative dining concepts and championed sustainability initiatives such as the ecoSPIRITS programme.
Joining him in strengthening the hotel’s culinary leadership is Executive Chef Sajid Patel, who brings over 18 years of extensive culinary experience across leading hospitality brands. In his role as Executive Chef, Chef Sajid will oversee all culinary operations at the hotel, including menu development, food production, hygiene and quality standards, outdoor catering and guest dining experiences across restaurants, lounges and banquets.
Prior to joining JW Marriott Pune, Chef Sajid served as Executive Chef at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Brigade Gateway, where he led a team of more than 70 culinary professionals and drove significant growth in food and beverage performance. Under his leadership, the hotel recorded double digit revenue growth, improved guest satisfaction scores and successfully executed several large scale outdoor catering events including marquee corporate and government gatherings catering to thousands of guests.
Chef Sajid’s career spans distinguished hospitality brands including Trident Bandra Kurla, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar and Courtyard and Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru ORR. During his tenure with The Oberoi Group, he progressed steadily through the ranks to Executive Sous Chef – Banquet Operations, demonstrating consistent excellence in kitchen management, menu innovation and large scale event execution.
A graduate in Hotel and Tourism Management Studies from Mumbai University and a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Kitchen Management from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Chef Sajid is also a Certified Departmental Trainer. His culinary repertoire spans Indian, Western and Oriental cuisines, with hands-on expertise in sushi, Mediterranean cuisine and specialty food promotions, including an Indian food showcase at Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea in Sicily, Italy.
Throughout his career, Chef Sajid has received multiple industry recognitions, including being named Most Admired Chef (2022) by the World Leadership Congress Awards and one of the Best Chefs of 2024 in Bengaluru by The Chef Post. He has also played a key role in achieving top industry recognitions and audit excellence across properties, including outstanding FSSAI and global food safety audit scores.
