Garner becomes fastest scaling global brand in IHG history as momentum builds in India
Garner becomes fastest scaling global brand in IHG history as momentum builds in India
Garner hotels, a midscale conversion brand within the IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) portfolio, has celebrates reaching 100 open hotels globally since its August 2023 launch
IHG’s fastest-ever brand to scale globally, Garner continues to drive value for guests and owners by focusing on important stay essentials while offering a flexible, conversion-friendly development model. In India, Garner is beginning to build early development momentum, with five hotels signed including Garner Etawah, Garner Kathua, Garner Bhiwadi and Garner Kutch.
Garner’s rapid expansion includes a global pipeline of almost 80 hotels that will nearly double its reach in the coming years. With open or pipeline properties in 12 countries including India, Garner continues to welcome guests in more key markets around the world. The brand’s rising popularity among owners and developers stems from growing worldwide demand for conversion properties, which accounted for 52 percent of all IHG room openings in 2025. A competitive cost-per-key ratio, flexible design standards, reduced pre-opening costs and accelerated turnaround process likewise have fueled its rapid growth, with some properties completing high-quality conversions in a little more than a month between signing and opening.
As Garner continues to expand globally, India is emerging as a key growth market, with demand for dependable, value-driven stays rising across emerging commercial centres and fast-growing secondary cities. The brand’s rapid early momentum in the country reflects strong owner interest in its accessible midscale proposition and long-term growth potential within IHG’s mainstream portfolio.
Focused on its mission to offer guests “easy going stays that get you on your way,” Garner caters to travelers who prioritise comfort, quality and service at an affordable price point. Each property’s design celebrates the diversity of its home city, and thoughtful amenities prioritise what guests covet most, including comfortable beds, a sound night’s sleep and a great hot breakfast to start the day. Public and in-room workspaces also assist those traveling for business or a mix of work and play.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “Garner reaching 100 hotels globally in such a short span highlights the strong relevance of the brand’s proposition for both owners and guests worldwide. In India, we are already seeing that momentum translate into owner confidence, with five hotels signed and more in active discussion. Garner’s flexible and cost-efficient model is well-suited to support the continued evolution of India’s midscale hospitality landscape while strengthening IHG’s mainstream portfolio in the country. This is just the beginning for Garner.”
