Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to scale its portfolio to 50 hotels by 2030. The structured expansion will strengthen its presence across India’s high-growth pilgrimage, leisure, wildlife and business travel markets.

With a portfolio comprising Ocho Homes, Hanric, Treetop and Stamps, the group develops design-led boutique properties that celebrate local heritage while delivering world-class comfort and service. Operating across India, the UK and East Africa, Eight Continents is focused on creating meaningful, experience-led stays for the modern traveller.

The expansion will span key spiritual centres including Vrindavan, Ayodhya, Shirdi and Ujjain. It will also target leisure and wildlife destinations such as Udaipur, Gir, Corbett, Varkala and Jaisalmer. Major commercial markets, including Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, are also a part of the plan, along with select high-potential tier-two cities.

The growth strategy is anchored in strong domestic travel fundamentals. Pilgrimage tourism has witnessed a 19% rise in bookings, and tier-two cities are emerging as structurally important demand centres supported by sustained infrastructure investments, improved connectivity and the decentralisation of business activity.

Eight Continents’ expansion will follow a clearly sequenced, phased market-entry strategy, calibrated to demand maturity, return potential, and long-term brand fit. The approach is designed to balance steady consolidation with measured diversification, ensuring that each phase strengthens the group’s overall portfolio.

By 2028, the group will focus on consolidating its presence across structurally strong pilgrimage markets, building a base of approximately 10 hotels. This phase anchors the brand in destinations with consistent demand patterns and year-round relevance, creating a stable foundation for future growth.

By 2029, Eight Continents will deepen its footprint in leisure and nature-led destinations, adding another 10 properties. This expansion will diversify the revenue base while aligning closely with India’s growing preference for experiential and destination-driven travel.

By 2030, the portfolio will scale to around 50 hotels through targeted entry into major metropolitan centres and business hubs. This final phase marks the transition into a nationally balanced platform, combining pilgrimage, leisure, and urban hospitality under a cohesive growth vision.

Speaking on this, Richa Adhia, Managing Director, Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts, said, “Our focus remains on building a balanced, resilient platform that combines emotion-led luxury with disciplined growth. Each phase of our expansion is designed to strengthen Eight Continents’ positioning as a credible, future-ready national hospitality brand.”

With India at the core of its global growth strategy, Eight Continents remains committed to the Indian hospitality market, viewing it as a long-term growth engine for the group. The expansion roadmap builds on Eight Continents’ strong development momentum over the past six months, marked by the launch of Stampy by Eight Continents in Pushkar, Stamps by Eight Continents in Jodhpur, and new Ocho Homes properties in Belfast and Navi Mumbai. These additions underscore the group’s ability to execute across diverse geographies and brand formats. Through brand-building and market-led expansion, the group aims to play a meaningful role in shaping India’s next phase of experiential luxury hospitality.
