U.S. Becomes Arajet’s Largest International Market as Airline Posts Record First Half of 2026

Arajet carried 229,661 point-to-point passengers between the United States and the Dominican Republic during the first half of the year, reinforcing the U.S. as its fastest-growing international market while the airline surpassed one million passengers for the first time in its history.

The United States has become the cornerstone of Arajet’s international growth strategy, with the Dominican Republic’s flagship airline carrying 229,661 point-to-point passengers between the two countries during the first half of 2026, according to statistics from the Dominican Republic Civil Aviation Board (JAC).
The strong U.S. performance contributed to a historic milestone for Arajet. During the first six months of 2026, the airline became the first Dominican carrier ever to transport more than one million passengers in a single first half. JAC data shows Arajet carried 922,593 passengers on flights to and from the Dominican Republic between January and June, while more than 100,000 additional travelers connected through the airline’s hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.

Today, the United States accounts for approximately one-quarter of Arajet’s total passenger traffic, making it the airline’s largest international market. Growth has been fueled by the rapid expansion of Arajet’s U.S. network and the opportunities created by the Open Skies
Agreement between the Dominican Republic and the United States, allowing the carrier to add new routes and frequencies while offering travelers more nonstop and one-stop options across the Americas.
The airline’s momentum is also reflected in JAC route statistics, with New York and Miami ranking among Arajet’s busiest destinations during the first half of the year, underscoring strong demand from leisure travelers, business travelers and the Dominican-American community.
“Surpassing one million passengers is a defining moment for Arajet and for Dominican aviation,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, Founder and CEO of Arajet. “The United States has been instrumental to that growth. As we continue expanding our network and increasing frequencies, we’re making it easier than ever for travelers to reach the Dominican Republic and seamlessly connect across the Americas through our hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.”

Arajet’s continued investment in the U.S. market reflects its long-term strategy of strengthening connectivity between the Dominican Republic and North America while supporting tourism, business and trade. The airline currently serves New York, Miami, Orlando, Boston and Chicago, with additional growth expected as demand continues to rise.
