Rainbow Tours launches new Madagascar brochure

Madagascar is considered one of Rainbow’s flagship destinations, displaying particular depth and expertise, and the new brochure features two new twin centre itineraries, as well as some recently enhanced existing trips.

The 24-page standalone brochure breaks down the highlights of Madagascar by region, showcases immersive experiences and accommodation options, and dedicates four pages to the wildlife species that clients can expect to see, highlighting the richness of the island’s wildlife and biodiversity.  It also includes a page focusing on Money for Madagascar, a charity that funds community-led projects tackling some of the country’s most pressing issues such as food insecurity, habitat loss, poor healthcare and education, and to whom Rainbow allocates a donation for every Madagascar booking.

Two new twin centres have been launched for 2027 in response to increased demand for a holiday that seamlessly pairs two different destinations to offer a greater depth and variety of experience from one trip. These are:

South Africa Big Five safari and Madagascar Lemurs (14 nights, £7,195 per person sharing, including flights)combining the once-in-a-lifetime holiday to Madagascar with a Big Five safari in South Africa via a short direct flight from Johannesburg. The trip starts with a four-night stay at the five-star boutique Tintswalo Waterfall, enjoying game drives in the Welgevonden Game Reserve which offers excellent opportunities to see elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, hyena and, with luck, the elusive leopard. It then flies to Madagascar for eight nights’ exploring the country’s extraordinary wildlife, from diverse chameleons and unusual endemic birds to several species of lemur, before finishing with a beach stay on the island of Nosy Sakatia, surrounded by warm, turquoise waters and vibrant coral reefs.

Madagascar and Réunion Island (18 nights from £7,075 sharing, including flights) is based on another increasingly popular request – to combine two contrasting islands in the Indian Ocean. It starts in Madagascar, exploring the forest reserves, iconic baobabs and the extraordinary limestone pinnacles of Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, offering the opportunity to spot pale fork-marked lemur, sportive lemur, grey mouse lemur and Verreaux’s sifaka, a highlight for many.  On day 10, Réunion Island beckons, offering breathtaking scenery, towering cliffs, picturesque villages, ribbon-like waterfalls, mountain trails and volcanic landscapes. The stay in Réunion culminates in a beach stay, with the freedom of a hire car and a spectacular helicopter ride included in the package.

These new twin centres sit alongside the established Madagascar and Mauritius, and Madagascar and the Seychelles, which is soon to come.

The new brochure represents a snapshot of Rainbow’s wider Madagascar programme, comprising a total of 16 bespoke and small group trips, including the 15-night Madagascar wildlife discovery small group tour (from £5,675 per person sharing, including flights) which has been newly improved by the inclusion of an internal flight to reduce driving times. Other examples include Madagascar Reef and Rainforest and Madagascar Rainforests, Wildlife, Tsingy & Beach, both of which can be tailored according to budget and taste.

Derek Schuurman, Product Manager for Madagascar and Alternative Africa, Rainbow Tours said:

“I’ve put my heart and soul into Rainbow’s Madagascar portfolio, refining it over years into what I believe to be one of most comprehensive and considered programmes on the UK market. I’m excited to be expanding it further for 2027 and expect the new twin centres to be amongst the most popular in the entire collection.

“Madagascar is home to some of the planet’s rarest and most distinctive wildlife and landscapes. Of course it is celebrated for its lemurs and iconic baobab trees, but if offers so much more. Our trips encourage visitors to explore it in all its depth and variety, and I hope our new brochure proves to be a valuable resource and source of inspiration for travel agents in understanding the richness and opportunity of this incredible destination.”

The new brochure can be viewed online at rainbowtours.co.uk/brochures, where there’s also a link to order print copies.
