Le Meridien New Delhi celebrates World Chocolate Day with a Towering  Chocolate Marvel

Le Meridien New Delhi transformed into a whimsical chocolate wonderland this evening as it hosted an indulgent celebration of World Chocolate Day, bringing together guests, dignitaries, and chocolate lovers for an unforgettable journey through taste, artistry, and imagination 

Held at The Atrium, the event featured interactive experiences, curated tastings, and a visual delight of themed  décor, welcoming guests into a playful cocoa kingdom.  

The highlight of the evening was the spectacular unveiling of an awe-inspiring chocolate installation titled “Once  Upon a Chocotales”—a show-stopping creation that embodied the fantasy and wonder of the day.  

Crafted entirely by the hotel’s award-winning pâtisserie team under the leadership of Chef Davinder Kumar, Vice  President – F&B Production, the installation featured a towering chocolate bar standing 5 feet tall and weighing an  impressive 300 lbs. This extraordinary sculpture was made using pure couverture chocolate from the globally  renowned Casa Luker, known for its rich flavour profile and artisanal quality.

The installation was not just a feast for the senses but a tribute to craftsmanship, creativity, and the timeless joy that  chocolate brings. As guests gathered around, the reveal was met with awe and delight—many describing it as  “chocolate-struck” at first sight.  

The event was graced by the presence of two esteemed guests of Honour: His Excellency, the Ambassador of Belgium to India, and Her Excellency, the Ambassador of Mexico to India, both representing nations deeply intertwined with the history and evolution of chocolate.  

From ancient cacao rituals in Mesoamerica to the elegant pralines of Brussels, the celebration acknowledged chocolate’s rich global heritage, inviting guests to savour its past, present, and future.  

Guests also participated in a delightful round of chocolate trivia that spotlighted facts from Mexico and Belgium,  adding a touch of learning and laughter to the indulgent affair.  

From immersive storytelling to chocolate-infused creativity, the event served as a delicious reminder that chocolate is more than just a treat—it’s an experience, a memory, and a little bite of happiness.
