Hyatt Announces Plans for Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin
Hyatt Hotels Corporation today announced that one of its affiliates has entered into a franchise agreement for Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin. The landmark Hotel Palace Berlin is expected to undergo a phased renovation and join the Hyatt Regency brand and World of Hyatt in early 2027.
Located in Berlin’s City West district, opposite the Berlin Zoo and within walking distance of Kurfürstendamm, the Europa-Center and the city’s major transportation links, the hotel will complement Hyatt’s existing portfolio in the German capital, joining Grand Hyatt Berlin, Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side, Lindner Hotel Berlin Ku’damm, which is part of JdV by Hyatt and five Mr & Mrs Smith hotels.
Designed for Business and Leisure
The property features 239 guestrooms and 39 suites designed to support productive business travel while creating opportunities to relax and unwind. The hotel features an exclusive club lounge – expected to be reimagined as a Regency Club, the acclaimed beef45 restaurant, two bars, a spa and pool and approximately 2,600 square metres (28,000 square feet) of event space across 18 venues designed to accommodate up to 900 guests for meetings, celebrations and social gatherings.
The transition will be accompanied by a thoughtful redesign and modernization, focused on the hotel’s public areas and guestrooms, introducing welcoming social spaces and calm, intuitive accommodations designed to help guests work, relax and connect with ease.
“We are excited to join the Hyatt family,” said Michael Frenzel, General Manager, Hotel Palace Berlin. “This collaboration will allow us to combine the unique character and quality of our hotel with the global strength of the Hyatt Regency brand. Together, we will offer even greater benefits to our guests, customers and employees while continuing the success story of our property.”
“Hotel Palace Berlin has built an exceptional reputation over many years, and we’re excited to welcome it to the Hyatt Regency brand,” said Gabriela Basovska, Director Development Northern Europe, Hyatt. “Its prime City West location, premium hospitality and exceptional meeting facilities make it a natural fit for a brand built around bringing people together.”
Strengthening Hyatt’s Portfolio in Germany
Berlin remains a strategically important market for Hyatt, and Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin further strengthens Hyatt’s portfolio in the German capital while expanding the Hyatt Regency brand in the country. Joining Hyatt Regency Cologne, Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and Hyatt Regency Mainz, the hotel is expected to become the brand’s fourth Hyatt Regency hotel in Germany, offering guests and World of Hyatt members additional opportunities to stay across the country.
With more than 245 Hyatt Regency hotels in over 50 countries, the brand is renowned for bringing people together through seamless experiences for business, meetings, events and leisure. As of the second quarter of 2026, Hyatt’s portfolio in Germany comprises 25 hotels representing more than 5,000 rooms across eight distinct brands.
Additional details regarding the hotel’s opening will be announced as the project progresses.
