Goa Tourism Welcomes Two UK Charters to Launch Winter 2025–26 Season
Goa Tourism welcomed the first UK charter flights of Winter 2025–26, strengthening direct international connectivity and tourism momentum
Goa has opened its winter charter season with the arrival of the first TUI Airways flights from the United Kingdom. The inaugural flight from Manchester touched down at Manohar International Airport (Mopa) on November 5, carrying 282 passengers, followed by another from London Gatwick on November 6 with 288 passengers.
The charter operations are being handled by Freedom Holidays Pvt. Ltd., enhancing international connectivity to Goa and providing direct access between Manchester Airport (MAN), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), and Manohar International Airport (GOX), Mopa. The renewed link is expected to bolster visitor inflow for the 2025–26 season and strengthen Goa’s position in long-haul travel circuits.
Welcoming the arrivals, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, said: “The start of the charter season by TUI Airways reflects the continued interest Goa enjoys among travellers from the United Kingdom. As we expand our global reach, our endeavour is to offer experiences rooted in cultural ethos while supporting local communities and sustainable growth. We look forward to a promising season ahead.”
Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik, added: “This development further strengthens international travel in Goa. We remain committed to working with partners to deliver a smooth, responsible, and enriching experience for visitors.”
The arrival of UK charters marks another step in diversifying Goa’s tourism base and reviving international travel momentum. It also signifies the growing operational significance of the Manohar International Airport as a key gateway for inbound flights. The Department of Tourism continues to coordinate efforts to ensure smooth arrivals, efficient handling, and enhanced traveller experiences throughout the season.
This collaboration underscores the continuing importance of the UK market for Goa and reflects the state’s evolving focus on broad-based, year-round tourism that integrates cultural, adventure, wellness, and nature-based offerings.
