Fairmont Southampton Opens Palmetto Beach Club, Marking First Chapter in Resort’s Return
Fairmont Southampton has opened Palmetto Beach Club, marking the first major milestone in the highly anticipated return of one of Bermuda’s most iconic resorts.
Set on the island’s renowned South Shore, the new beachfront destination brings together a spectacular oceanfront infinity pool, pink-sand beach, private cabanas, dedicated beach service and The Grill, an all-day restaurant celebrating Bermuda’s coastal flavours. Guests can also enjoy handcrafted cocktails, live entertainment and wellness experiences overlooking the Atlantic.
Developed with Paris Society Consulting, Ennismore’s in-house F&B studio, Palmetto Beach Club blends international hospitality expertise with a distinctly Bermudian sense of place.
The opening offers UK travellers and the local community an early glimpse of Fairmont Southampton’s transformation, following an investment of more than US$550 million. The wider resort is scheduled to reopen later this year with 593 redesigned guestrooms and suites, new and reimagined restaurants and bars, enhanced wellness facilities, meeting and event spaces and the return of Turtle Hill Golf Club.
“This is the moment we begin welcoming guests back to Fairmont Southampton,” said Kiaran MacDonald, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “Palmetto Beach Club is the first chapter of our transformation and an incredibly proud milestone for our team.”
Ahead of the resort’s full reopening, Day Passes are available for a limited time to residents and visitors, including access to the pool and beach, with cabanas and dining at The Grill available to book separately. The Beach Club is initially open Thursday to Sunday, 10am–10pm.
The reopening forms part of Fairmont Southampton’s renewed vision, ‘The Rising Heartbeat of Bermuda’, which places the island’s culture, community and people at the heart of the resort’s next chapter.
