In the spirit of collaboration and care for the community, Emirates Airport Services, Emirates Engineering, dnata4good and several local non-profit organisations have come together to deliver 430 baby strollers to children in need.

In a spirited community effort, the Emirates Airport Services team transported the spare airport strollers to the Emirates Engineering Facility and team who upcycled them. Then dnata’s employee-driven initiative – dnata4good, stepped in to identify several local entities to deliver them to, including Hope Amel UAE, Senses and Al Noor. Each organisation expressed their gratitude and shared a different plan for using the strollers, from donating to single mothers in need, to using for emergency transportation for students, to usage on school trips and outings.

The instantly recognisable red Emirates strollers form part of Emirates’ family-friendly approach and are available on a complimentary basis at Emirates’ dedicated hub in Dubai International Airport (DXB). Families travelling through Terminal 3 can borrow a stroller from a dedicated stand and use them to make their journey smoother from check-in to boarding and upon arrival to Dubai. Helping parents navigate the airport with greater ease and comfort, they are regularly sanitised for hygiene and are ideal for infants, toddlers and children with accessible travel needs, during longer walks between gates or lounge visits.

In December 2025, Emirates purchased 1000 new strollers for customers and set aside 430 older models for repurposing. Emirates Engineering team, already renowned for their repurposing of seat fabrics into schoolbags for children across the globe, took the strollers to the dedicated repurposing workshop to be upcycled. The strollers are high quality, so the team only needed to make some adjustments to branding and added their signature tag made from the leather of Business Class seats – ‘Donated with love by Emirates.’

The next step was led by the employee team at dnata4good, a staff-led initiative that focuses on volunteerism across the pillars of Community, Environment, and Wellbeing. dnata4good identified and communicated with 3 worthy local entities who could benefit from the strollers – Hope Amel UAE, Al Noor and Senses and arranged the handover.

Then Emirates Airport Services team took the strollers to a specialised facility to initiate a thorough cleaning and sanitisation process, to be ready to meet their new passengers.

Hope Amel UAE

Hope‑Amel UAE is a grassroots humanitarian initiative based in Dubai that began in 2020 with a simple yet powerful mission of supporting mothers and families in need across the UAE by spreading hope through kindness and community-driven action. Founded by Canadian Iraqi expatriate Abbie Kadom, the group started as a Facebook support page and quickly grew into a thriving network of volunteers and donors. Hope-Amel collects essential items such as diapers, baby formula, pre-loved baby gear and other necessities, distributing them to families experiencing hardship to ease financial burdens and foster dignity.

Senses

Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs is a Dubai-based non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering children and young adults through tailored care, education and life-skills development. Established to provide both residential and day-care services, Senses offers a nurturing, structured environment where students receive specialised therapy, vocational training and personalised learning programmes designed to foster independence and confidence. Beyond daily care, the organisation works closely with families and the wider community to promote inclusion, dignity and long-term opportunity for people of determination in the UAE. Through fundraising initiatives, community partnerships and volunteer engagement, Senses continues to play a vital role in supporting some of Dubai’s most vulnerable families while championing a more inclusive society.

Al Noor

Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination is a long-standing non-profit organisation in Dubai dedicated to empowering people of determination and individuals with additional needs through education, therapy, vocational training and comprehensive care. Al Noor has grown into a key community resource providing holistic programmes that combine specialised instruction, rehabilitation services and individual intervention plans tailored to each student’s needs. It supports over 200 students from diverse backgrounds, offering therapies, life-skills development, work placement opportunities and extracurricular activities designed to enhance independence and social inclusion. Al Noor also works to raise awareness about disability issues, trains professionals and families, and partners with corporates and volunteers to broaden its impact and foster greater inclusion in the UAE.
