easyHotel reveals its first-ever afternoon tea, swapping scones for sausage rolls
easyHotel, the great-value hotel brand has revealed its first-ever afternoon tea, swapping cucumber sandwiches and scones for sausage rolls, Party Rings and a proper cup of builders’ tea.
Created to celebrate National Afternoon Tea Week, from 10 to 16 August, the playful British spread will be served free to guests staying at easyHotel London Shoreditch. But guests will need to be quick: only ten afternoon tea sets are available across the entire week, served between 12pm and 3pm on a first come, first served basis.
The launch comes as afternoon tea at some of London’s best-known hotels now regularly costs upwards of £75 per person, with champagne and other additions pushing the price even higher.*
easyHotel has instead filled its first afternoon tea with familiar British favourites, including sausage & vegetarian rolls and Mini Cheddars, alongside sweet treats such as angel slices, custard creams, Party Rings and Jaffa Cakes.
The complimentary spread gives guests visiting the capital a fun, great-value way to enjoy the occasion, offering one of Britain’s best-loved traditions with a distinctly easyHotel twist.
The afternoon tea will be served in the hotel lobby, where guests can sit back and enjoy the full spread.
For those who prefer to savour their afternoon tea later, easyHotel is extending the experience beyond the traditional afternoon.
Unlike many other hotels, guests can opt for a convenient ‘Picky Bits’ Box, allowing them to take home the delicious contents of the easyHotel Afternoon Tea to enjoy whenever they choose.
Nathan White, UK operations director at easyHotel, said: “Afternoon tea is a brilliant British tradition, but at some hotels it has become increasingly elaborate and incredibly expensive. “We wanted to give it the easyHotel treatment, keeping things simple, fun and great value by swapping the usual delicacies for the snacks people know and love.
“There are no tiny sandwiches or complicated tea menus. Just a proper brew, a sausage roll and some of Britain’s favourite biscuits, for free”
No reservations are required. Guests of easyHotel London Shoreditch hotel just need to ask for the afternoon tea at reception.
