Business Travel Show 2026: Increase in corporates using business travel as a benefit
New data from Business Travel Show Europe has revealed a marked increase in corporates using business travel as a benefit to attract and retain talent – from 18.5 per cent to 20.2 per cent in the last 12 months.
Of those, 5.9 per cent are including a remit to take ‘bleisure’ trips among their employee benefits offering and 1.7 per cent allow workcations. Meanwhile, over half – 52 per cent – do not use business travel as a talent carrot, this is considerably lower than last year’s 57.1 pr cent.
The findings highlight a growing realisation among HR teams of the importance of travel to employees, particularly Millennial and Gen Z talent, as well as the normalisation of front and back loading work trips with holiday, and the rise of the digital nomad.
Louis Magliaro, executive vice president, the BTN Group, said: “We’re seeing a real shift in how organisations think about business travel.
“It’s no longer viewed purely as a cost centre, but becoming a meaningful part of the employee value proposition. For younger talent especially, the opportunity to travel, blend work with leisure and experience new cultures is a powerful differentiator.
“This data shows HR teams are recognising that, and Business Travel Show Europe will be the place to find shortcuts to designing a travel policy that can support attraction, retention and employee experience.”
Business travel isn’t just about logistics – it impacts employee wellbeing, cost control, compliance, sustainability and talent attraction.
Business Travel Show Europe, taking place at Excel London on June 24-25, is designed to help HR professionals balance all of these priorities in one place.
There are hundreds of travel and mobility suppliers who understand the HR impact of business travel and practical content in the conference programme with sessions focusing on sustainability, AI, geopolitics, cost control and more.
