Banyan Tree marks 100th hotel with Mandai Rainforest Resort opening in Singapore
Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree opens in Singapore, expanding the Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s nature-led offerings.
Banyan Group and Mandai Wildlife Group have formally opened the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, the first accommodation facility within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve and the Banyan Group’s debut property in Singapore. The opening marks a notable development in the ongoing transformation of the Mandai precinct, which is being reshaped into a consolidated wildlife and nature destination integrating multiple parks, public spaces and education-led experiences.
The 4.6-hectare resort, owned by Mandai Wildlife Group and operated by Banyan Group, adds an accommodation component to the wider 126-hectare reserve. Officials from both organisations said the facility is intended to support longer visits, strengthen accessibility to the precinct’s programmes and provide a base for nature-focused activities connected to the surrounding landscape and wildlife parks.
“As we mark our 100th hotel with our first in Singapore, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree represents a deeply meaningful homecoming. It brings together our legacy of design-led hospitality with our commitment to stewardship and shared impact,” said Eddy See, President and CEO, Banyan Group. “Here, guests are invited to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience travel as a force that uplifts people, places, and communities. As the first resort within a world-leading wildlife and nature destination in a capital city, it offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy meaningful wildlife experiences right at their doorstep, a powerful expression of Singapore’s City in Nature vision.”
Bennett Neo, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, said the opening of the resort marks a significant step in the long-term redevelopment efforts underway at Mandai. He noted that the presence of an on-site accommodation option aligns with plans to improve visitor flow, extend dwell time and create integrated experiences that link the precinct’s parks, outdoor areas, learning spaces and public facilities. Neo also highlighted that the facility complements the wider objective of creating a unified wildlife and nature destination adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
The new resort forms part of Mandai Wildlife Group’s strategy to broaden the precinct’s capacity to host educational programmes, conservation-oriented activities and age-inclusive experiences across its network of attractions, including Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, Rainforest Wild Asia and the recently opened Curiosity Cove.
