San Francisco Travel presents what’s new in San Francisco

San Francisco (SF) Travel is a not-for-profit partnership association with approximately 35 employees. The organization has offices in the US and overseas and it is funded by the San Francisco Tourism Improvement District with 1200+ partner businesses.


Here’s a few things to know about SFO transit and airport lift:


– 44 international carriers
– 63 U.S. airports served non-stop
– 2,329 weekly non-stop flights served domestically
– 37 international airports served non-stop
– 507 weekly non-stop flights internationally


A few key updates about San Francisco were presented by SF Travel. These include the top neighborhoods. Per SF Travel, San Francisco currently has the following as top neighborhoods to visit:


1. Fisherman’s Wharf
2. North Beach
3. Chinatown
4. Embarcadero/Financial District
5. Union Square
6. Central Market
7. SOMA/Yerba Buena
8. Mission
9. Civic Center/Hayes Valley


San Francisco has evolved as the Culinary Capital of the West Coast. The destination has six bay area restaurants that received the coveted three Michelin stars in the 2021 MICHELIN Guide. It has eight restaurants that were awarded two Michelin stars. There were 50 bay area restaurants awarded with one or more Michelin stars. Out of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World, San Francisco has three of them (SF and NY are the only US cities with restaurants on this coveted list).


Accommodations-wise from landmark to luxury hotels, San Francisco has 242 hotels, 34,900 sleeping rooms, 9 hotels with 500+ rooms, and 4 hotels with 1,000+ rooms.

 

To name a few of these hotels, San Francisco has Kimpton Alton that opened in October 2021, CitizenM Hotel that opened in November 2021, Hyatt Regency Downtown SoMa which is formerly Park Central, LUMA Hotel and 1 Hotel San Francisco that are both opening this month June 2022, and The LINE Hotel that is opening in Fall 2022.


For the art and history enthusiasts, San Francisco offers the must-see museums of Asian Art Museum, California Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Museum of the African Diaspora, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), Walt Disney Family Museum, and Legion of Honor.
