Russian invasion causes subsidence in tourism sector

Russian invasion of Ukraine is seen to cause an instant spike in flight cancellations to and from Russia according to the latest data from ForwardKeys.

On February 25th, the day after the start of the invasion, every booking that was made for travel to Russia was outweighed by six cancellations of pre-existing bookings.

In order of volume, the highest cancellation rates are from Germany with 773 per cent, France  with 472 per cent, Italy with 152 per cent, the UK with 254 per cent, India with 285 per cent and Turkey with 116 per cent.
