The venue has up to 2,745 seats. Opéra Bastille is a modern opera house located on the Place de la Bastille in Paris. Commissioned in 1981 by President Francois Mitterrand, it was designed by Carlos Ott and inaugurated in 1989 on the occasion of the celebrations of the bicentennial of the Revolution as part of major works for Paris.There are world class and expensive opera performances at Opéra Bastille.
