Millions flock to Dubai as city leads tourism recovery

Dubai welcomed 7.28 million international overnight visitors last year which per records, constitutes 32 per cent year-over-year growth on the figure for 2020.

However, the number is still well below the 16.7 million international guests the emirate welcomed in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.

Nevertheless, last year was one of recovery for the destination, setting the city firmly on course to achieve sustainable growth.

Booming international visits resulted from the strong tourism arrivals from regional markets.

Visits from across the globe are still expected to grow as the country adopts strategies to attract not just tourists but also investors, entrepreneurs and innovators to Dubai.
