Day 1: Arrival in Tunis Arrival at Tunis-Carthage International Airport. If your flight lands in the morning, enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site of Carthage and the charming white-and-blue village of Sidi Bou Saïd, perched over the Mediterranean. Overnight in Tunis. Day 2: Journey South – Hammamet, El Jem & Sfax Departure after breakfast towards southern Tunisia. Stop in Hammamet to discover the medina and local crafts, then continue to El Jem to visit the impressive Roman amphitheatre, one of the largest in the world. Lunch in El Jem, followed by a short visit of the historic medina of Sfax, a city off the beaten path. Overnight in Sfax. Day 3: From Berber Villages to the Sahara Depart to Matmata, the land of traditional troglodyte houses still inhabited today. Lunch in Matmata, then continue to Gabès, known for its coastal oasis and local spice market. In the afternoon, arrive in Douz, the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Enjoy camel rides or an optional quad biking experience in the dunes. Overnight in Douz, at the edge of the desert. Day 4: Chott El Jerid, 4x4 Adventure & Kairouan Cross the legendary salt lake of Chott El Jerid, known for its mirages and pinkish reflections. Embark on a 4x4 excursion through desert landscapes and traditional villages. Stop in Kairouan, Tunisia’s holy city, for a short visit of the Great Mosque and Aghlabid basins. Continue to the coastal city of Sousse for a relaxing evening. Overnight in Sousse. Day 5: Return to Tunis – Optional Visits Transfer to Tunis airport. If your flight departs in the afternoon, enjoy an optional visit to Carthage and Sidi Bou Saïd (if not done on Day 1).
