REGION

The Baltic States are the three countries in northern Europe on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The unspoiled scenery of the Baltic coast, the living culture and traditions, and the heritage left behind by the former superpowers make the Baltics an attractive travel destination.

The capital of Latvia is Riga, the second largest port on the Baltic, situated at the mouth of the Daugava River. Its Old Town dates from the 13th century, when it was a Hanseatic city. Thanks to its extraordinarily beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, it is considered as the European Art Nouveau metropolis. Riga has a unique combination of its Medieval dwellings, quaint 19th century wooden structures and its prime examples of Art Nouveau architecture that, actually, are like no other!

In Lithuania, the southernmost, largest, and most populous Baltic State, the capital is Vilnius, founded in the 14th century. Vilnius – the city born from the legend of Iron Wolf, famous for unique variety of architectural heritage and European capital of culture in 2009. It is truly a cultural crossroads, where is possible to see architectural examples of the rich legacy of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical buildings. The city has been known for centuries as a place of religious tolerance and cultural melding, and nowadays it is a thriving, diverse European capital.

And finally the northernmost Estonia offers visitors to experience the spirit of the Medieval Ages, present in the cobblestone streets and buildings of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Tallinn is the oldest capital of Northern Europe. It is a perfect destination to combine the comforts of modern world, versatile nightlife with rich cultural scene in the local historical setting. First established in the early medieval era, today’s Tallinn is an exciting mix of old and new. Tallinn Old Town is one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centers in the world.

All three Baltic capitals are included on UNESCO World Heritage list thanks to their unique architecture. Nowadays these are towns with developed infrastructure, modern conference halls, luxuries hotels, gourmet restaurants, large shopping possibilities, safe atmosphere and friendly people, what makes Baltic States a perfect location for your next event!
