DESTINATION: INDONESIA
The diversity of Indonesia is what makes this country a wonderful place to visit, with the beauty of its natural landscapes, its pristine archipelago, the unique cultures of its people and wonderful diverse cuisines. Bali is roughly in the centre of the archipelago, making it convenient as a jump-off point for exploring farther afield in places like Jogjakarta, Flores and Komodo. Lombok’s landscape and beaches are beautiful and pristine, with waterfalls and a Pink Beach.
Both Bali and Jakarta have a large number of convention centers, MICE facilities as well as 5-star hotels. Bali has seen a number of successful large global events and congresses including the IMF World bank annual meeting, Miss World Pageants and ASEAN Summits.
Indonesia has a large biodiversity of wild life. It is the only place in the world to see Komodo dragons in the wild. The two most popular islands for seeing Komodo dragons are Rinca Island and Komodo Island, where the dragons live and roam freely in their natural habitat on these islands, presenting tourists with a distinctive wildlife experience. Tanjung Puting National Park is a vast, mostly untouched tropical jungle and lowland coastal habit with rivers, located in central Kalimantan. It is home to the wild Orangutan as well as 8 other monkeys, Clouded Leopards and many other protected species. To explore the park, travel by boats along the winding rivers and visit Camp Leakey, founded in 1971 as a global centre of research for the Orangutan’s preservation.
