ABOUT US
Canberra Convention Bureau is the peak body responsible for attracting conferences and meetings to the Canberra region. With over 30 years experience, our mission is to promote Canberra as an exceptional business events destination to Australia and the world. With the support of a highly collaborative community, our team secures conferences, meetings, incentives programs and other business events to the region by working with associations, corporate organisations and meeting planners.
The Bureau is a not for profit association funded by ACT Government and industry partners. Its role is to provide expert assistance to clients through every stage of event planning, free of charge.
Our services include:
- Preparing and presenting bids
- Securing local support from government, industry and academia
- Event planning assistance including sourcing suitable venues, accommodation and suppliers
- Organising and hosting site inspections
- Delegate boosting and promotional support.

KNOWLEDGE
Canberra's intellectual assets are striking with four of Australia's top universities based here: Australian National University, University of Canberra, Australian Catholic University and UNSW Canberra, located at the Australian Defence Force Academy. CULTURE
Canberra is the custodian of Australia's stories and so its cultural DNA is impressive. The city's national attractions and buildings each express different aspects of our national identity through their architecture, collections and exhibitions. The Who's Who of museums and galleries are in Canberra including Australian War Memorial, National Gallery of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of Australia, National Film and Sound Archives and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Australia's currency is manufactured at the Royal Australian Mint and Questacon brings science and technology to the community. A thriving artist community exists, whether it be in music (ANU School of Music), theatre (Canberra Theatre, The Street Theatre Canberra) Dance (Canberra Dance Development Centre) or Art (Canberra Glassworks).
