Tourism Malaysia has announced the appointment of Datuk Manoharan Periasamy as the new Chairman, effective 8 December 2025
His appointment marks a significant leadership addition to the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board as the nation continues to strengthen its tourism sector post-pandemic and prepare for major upcoming initiatives, including Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
In a statement issued, the Board of Directors, Management, and staff of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Lembaga Penggalakan Pelancongan Malaysia) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) extended their warmest congratulations to Datuk Manoharan, expressing full confidence in his vision and strategic direction for advancing Malaysia’s tourism industry.
Tourism Malaysia noted that Datuk Manoharan’s extensive experience in public service, diplomacy, and tourism promotion will play a pivotal role in enhancing Malaysia’s global tourism presence and driving sustainable sectoral growth in the years ahead.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the newly appointed Chairman in all efforts to promote Malaysia as a premier tourist destination on the international stage.
