Copenhagen embraces sustainability

Copenhagen is the largest city in Denmark and the countries capital. With its population of just over 777 000 residents, Copenhagen is a dynamic and trendy metropolis, attracting attention with everything from it ’s royal rich history to exciting architecture, famous design, art and shopping. The city has evolved to becoming a city for sustainable events, incentives, and other MICE activities. In fact, Copenhagen is a frontrunner when it comes to adopting sustainable solutions and the city has one of the world’s most ambitious climate policies.

Just recently, Ovation Denmark DMC has been certified as a sustainable event planning bureau. In line with this feat, the team relaunched their “Green Escape” – a very sustainable incentive program – in Copenhagen.

The program includes urban skiing on Copenhagen’s cleanest powerplant, cycling through the city and getting from A to B on their world class metro rail system. They have chosen organic-only restaurants, eco-certified hotels and use electric boats on their harbor cruises. To support sustainable concept, they recommend using metro during the stay when it comes to transportation. They have incorporated use of it throughout the program where possible.
